FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

💾 DIGITAL DOWNLOADS

What is the quality of the digital downloads?

Every file is exported at a high resolution to ensure professional-grade printing. Most of my works are mastered at 6,000 pixels on the longest side. However, because my process involves "reclaiming" subjects and layering them with gritty, organic textures, some files may have a slightly lower pixel count. This is a deliberate artistic choice made to preserve the integrity of the textures rather than artificially over-sharpening the image.

What is the maximum size I can print from a digital file?

I have personally vetted and test-printed every file in my shop. I guarantee that every image, regardless of its specific pixel dimensions, will produce a crisp, beautiful print up to A3 size (29.7 x 42.0 cm).

You can absolutely print larger—to A2 size (42.0 x 59.4 cm), for example. Because these are fine art pieces, they will look striking at larger sizes as long as a suitable viewing distance is maintained (as the eye naturally blends the grain and texture from a step back).

How do I receive my digital art?

Immediately after purchase, you will receive a secure download link via email.

⏱️ Please note: To protect the artwork, this link remains active for 24 hours after your first click. If your link expires before you've safely saved the file to your computer, just drop me an email at bobede1951@gmail.com and I will happily refresh it for you.

What paper do you recommend for printing digital files?

Because my work focuses on deep textures and weathered details, I highly recommend using a heavyweight Matte, Giclée, or Cotton Rag fine art paper (such as Hahnemühle Photo Rag). These papers absorb ink beautifully, highlighting the depth of the distressed colours without the distracting glare of a glossy finish.

🖼️ PHYSICAL LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

How are your physical prints produced and presented?

My physical prints are created as strictly limited, small-run editions. Each print is individually numbered and signed by hand, and is accompanied by a formal Certificate of Authenticity (CoA).

To take the hassle out of framing, I supply each print professionally fitted inside a clean window mount (matt) with a rigid backing board. This means the print is safely supported and arrives ready to slide straight into a standard, widely available frame size.

How long will it take for my physical print to arrive?

Because every print is carefully prepared, checked, and assembled with its mount and backing board by hand, please allow 3 to 5 working days for dispatch. All UK orders are shipped using reliable, tracked services via Royal Mail or DHL, and a tracking link will be emailed to you the moment it leaves my studio.

What if my print arrives damaged?

I take immense care packaging prints flat in heavy-duty, rigid packaging to ensure they arrive safely. However, if the postman handles it roughly and your print or mount arrives damaged, please take a quick photo of the damage (both the packaging and the print) and email it to me within 48 hours of delivery. I will prioritize getting a replacement sorted or issue a full refund.

🎨 ARTISTIC STYLE

Why do some images look "grainy" or "textured"?

That is entirely intentional! My artistic philosophy is built around finding beauty in the overlooked, the expired, and the worn. I frequently layer my photographs with locally found graffiti or the textures of salt-beaten wood and rusted metal. These "imperfections" are the very soul of the artwork, adding a tactile, gritty depth that makes the final print feel alive.

Can I use your images for commercial projects?

No. All purchases—whether you buy a digital download or a physical limited edition print—grant you a Personal Use License only. This means you are welcome to print and display the art proudly in your home, studio, or office. However, the copyright remains exclusively with Bob Ede. You may not resell the files, redistribute them, or use the imagery for any commercial advertising or merchandise.
