The Collector’s Guide
to Digital Fine Art

How to print, frame, and display your new download.

Thank you for choosing my work. Each image is produced at an ultra-high resolution (typically 6000px on the longest side) to ensure that the deep textures and atmospheric tones remain crisp and immersive.

Typical Frame Formats

Square

Best for: Centred, modern focal points.

Dimensions: 1 : 1 Ratio

Sizes: 12×12”, 20×20”, 30×30”

Landscape

Best for: Wide vistas and coastal horizons.

Dimensions: 3 : 2 Ratio

Sizes: 12×8”, 18×12”, 24×16”

Portrait

Best for: Narrow walls and vertical abstracts.

Dimensions: 2 : 3 Ratio

Sizes: 8×12”, 12×18”, 16×24”

Framing Options

1. Choosing Your Print Size

Your files are optimized at 300 DPI (dots per inch) for gallery-standard sharpness.

Square Art (6000 x 6000 px): Ideal at 20" x 20". For a softer, more atmospheric "gallery" look, these can be scaled up to 40" x 40".

Landscape/Portrait Art: Best printed at 24" x 16" for maximum detail, but can comfortably go up to 36" x 24" for a high-impact wall display.

Pro Tip: If you aren't sure about a size, tape some scrap paper to your wall in the dimensions you're considering - don’t forget to allow for the frame and the mat* you are thinking of - it will help you visualize the "weight" of the piece in your space. (*see 3 below for details)

2. Paper Stocks

The paper you choose will change how the light affects the viewer experience in your room.

The Fine Art Choice (Hahnemühle Photo Rag): This is my top recommendation. It is a heavy, 100% cotton matte art paper, 310gms weight. It can make digital images look like physical paint and has exceptional industry and archival standards.

The Moody Choice (Velvet or Suede Matte):
These non-reflective surfaces are perfect for foggy, ethereal scenes (like The Kench series),
giving the highlights a soft, dreamlike glow.

Avoid High-Gloss: I generally recommend avoiding "shiny" photo papers. Harsh reflections can distract from the deep immersive colours and shadows in my work.

3. Professional Printers

If you aren't printing at home, these labs provide exceptional quality:

theprintspace (UK/Germany) – Excellent for Giclée prints.

Loxley Colour (UK) – Fantastic for framing and canvas.

WhiteWall (Global) – Specialist in high-end gallery finishes.
